Anyone hoping to make the most of the end of the summer could face bank holiday misery after it was revealed staff at Stansted Airport are gearing up to strike over a pay dispute.

The workers, who operate the security scanners for luggage at Stansted airport, have rejected a 1.5 per cent pay rise offer.

The strikers, who are all members of the GMB union, intend to take industrial action on August 23 and on Bank Holiday Monday.

The industrial action on Sunday 23rd will take place from 3.45am to 1.00 pm and also on Monday 31 between 3.45am to 11.59pm.
