About 20 percent of flights in and out of Paris's Orly airport will be cancelled on Thursday 28 April and the rail link to Paris Charles De gaulle will be disrupted due to a one-day general strike against the government's proposed labour law. for the fourth time in two months, workers, students and school students will demonstrate againt the law.

France's air traffic authority has told airlines to cancel 20 per cent of flights because a number of airline employees and air traffic controllers have indicated that they will join the strike.

At Charles De Gaulle there will probably be delays but no cancellations, officials said.

Air France says it will maintain all its long-haul flights and all flights to Charles De Gaulle but only 80 percent of domestic flights and those to Orly.

Kenya Airways Ltd. pilots threatened to strike later this week to force Chief Executive Officer Mbuvi Ngunze, who is implementing a reorganization that will result in at least 600 job losses, to resign.

The Kenya Airline Pilots Association wants Ngunze to resign after the company posted a record loss last year and because it thinks his turnaround plan will fail, it said in an e-mailed statement Tuesday. The strike is set to begin on Thursday, Secretary-General Paul Gichinga told reporters in the capital, Nairobi.

Trade union workers are going to strike at Germany's biggest airport in Frankfurt on April 27, trade union Verdi said in a statement on Friday.

Strikes will also affect airports in Munich, Duesseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Dortmund and partially Hanover, it said.

At Frankfurt, ground crews, check-in staff, repair workers and the fire department will be on strike until about 1300 GMT, the statement said.

Some Hawaiian Airlines pilots are frustrated over how long it’s taking to bargain their next contract.

On April 14, the Hawaiian Airlines Master Executive Council — part of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) — voted to conduct a strike authorization ballot. Voting on that strike ballot begins Monday, April 25.

Council spokesman Hoon Lee, a pilot of 17 years, said if the strike vote passes, it would authorize the council to declare a strike.

Belgian air traffic controllers continued strike action on Wednesday, forcing the cancellation of flights at Brussels airport as it struggles to get back up to capacity after the March 22 suicide bombings.

Belgian flag carrier Brussels Airlines said that around 50 of its flights to and from the main international Zaventem airport were cancelled.
