Flight attendants at Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) plan to go on strike over working conditions, as CAL authorities on Wednesday scrambled to find counter-measures to ensure that the action will not affect its services.

A vote by 2,548 flight attendants on Tuesday showed that 2,535 – or 99.5 percent – were in favor of the strike.

The flight attendants’ union plans to call the strike during school summer holidays in July and August, the peak season for air travel in Taiwan.

UPDATE: CAL flight attendants to go on strike from June 24
